You can't just decline to answer the door. Like he said, "The only time you have to let them in, is if they have a search warrant." If you decline to answer your door, there's no way of knowing whether or not they have a search warrant. You should always answer the door if it's the police, THEN ask if they have a search warrant, because you never know if you don't answer, which could lead to potential trouble. It's better not to assume they do, and answer the door.

They can always shoot you (and get away with it) if you attack them. No matter what they wanna do to you, just take the legal path and don't resist. For them, it'll certainly be more painful if you get them fired when they abuse their powers.

One officer told me i was a slave and lost my freedom after i said no to a search and stripped the car just because i was on probation. You are allowed to keep weapons in your home for the purpose of defending yourself, family, or property. As long as you can prove that the weapons are legally registrated and that you obtained them legally and have a proper license to use them, officers have no right to detain you for possessing weapons. I know it was pot they found and not weapons, but this is something that everyone should know. The 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms should be something that everyone is aware of.

@johncisney15: It's mostly state dependent. Texas doesn't need registration or any other to own a weapon. In New Mexico I don't need a single piece of paper to open carry.

This was all very interesting, however being nice about knowing your rights only pisses them off. When my mother tried to invoke the "Do you have a warrant" right an officer of the LAPD, west valley police department threw her on the ground and shoved his knee in her back. She was around 55 at the time and he got away with it because of threats and poor people have no rights. Court Appt lawyer? Laughable. Appreciate the vids but over all not much of an answer when your broke and Cops know that.

As they said in the videos, if enough complaints or severe enough complaints pile up against a particular cop, it can get them in trouble. Did you file a complaint?

If the cops in your area are that bad, it's probably better to talk to them from inside the house if possible.

@tifforo1 Yes, my mother field a complaint and she was told buy a cop friend of hers who worked in the same department as that asshole she would be better off dropping the whole thing because the "Threats" wouldn't stop and he was a bit unstable. So there really was no where to go after that. Say what you will, if a cop beats up an old woman because he didn't like her knowing her rights, what's he going to do if she keeps fighting for them? Not fun being at the shit end of a cop stick.

Some of the comments to this video insist that something is right or wrong because a law says it is. Some laws need to be repealed. It wasn't that long ago that it was illegal for a black person to sit at the front of the bus. People justified that law by saying "It's the law, so it must be right". Please learn history.
